When you sign up for HelmXP, you choose where your Hub's data lives: United States (West US 2) or European Union (West Europe).
This choice determines where your governance records, Briefings, audit logs, and AI processing occur. It is set at signup and cannot be changed without re-provisioning your Hub.
Most Hubs select US residency. Your data lives in Azure West US 2. All AI processing routes through Azure AI Foundry in the same region. This is the default for US credit unions, community banks, and nonprofits.
If your organisation is based in the European Economic Area (EEA) or has compliance obligations under GDPR that require data to stay in Europe, select EU residency.
Important: EU residency infrastructure is provisioned on your contract signature date. When you select EU at signup, you will see a confirmation message explaining that your tenant will be provisioned in Azure West Europe when that region is ready. You will receive an email when your Hub is live.

If you select EU residency, the EU Data Processing Agreement and Standard Contractual Clauses are presented during onboarding for your acceptance. Your acceptance is recorded with a timestamp and IP address.
If you are unsure which region to select, contact your account manager before signing up. Changing regions after provisioning requires a full re-provisioning and is treated as a new Hub.
